It's been a pretty busy few months at King Tree Me

It's been a pretty busy few months at King Tree Media, hence my lack of engagement on social media channels.

I’ve set up a production company and have been developing documentary projects for upcoming funding and commissioning rounds, while also completing a series of video projects for clients across waste management, agriculture, retail, and marketing.

That being said, I'd happy to share some of the video project work I’ve completed since the start of the year starting with this service video for McDonald International Ltd. In January, I completed a series of service videos showcasing some of the UK recycling plants manufactured by McDonald International Ltd, a waste management company based in Tullamore.

This video features (IPL) Bright Green, a plastics recycling plant in Castleford, Yorkshire.

Service videos are a powerful way to showcase technical expertise while making complex operations easier to follow. They offer businesses a practical way to demonstrate what they do, how they do it, and why it matters.

After a busy week, I’ve gained a newfound apprecia

After a busy week, I’ve gained a newfound appreciation for recycling plants and for the people who keep them running. Last week, we were all across the UK shooting promo videos for various recycling facilities designed and built, in part or in full, by McDonald International. From Edwards Recycling in Dagenham, London, to CWM Environmental in Carmarthen, Wales, to Berry Global in Leamington Spa, up to Pro Environmental outside Nottingham, and finally finishing at Bright Green Plastics in Castleford.

Huge thanks to McDonald International for looking after me throughout the trip, and to their Operations & Sales Manager, Dean Barker, who was great company on the road. We chatted about everything from recycling to rugby to haunted hotels and everything in between.

WORMHOLE IN THE WASHER, our sci-fi comedy short film starring the irrepressible Elliot James, makes its broadcast debut on RTÉ2 tonight on Shortscreen at 11:30pm.

If you’ve ever pondered the mystery of vanishing socks 🧦 in the wash, you might want to tune in!

When his socks go missing in the wash, a struggling sci-fi novelist discovers a portal to a parallel universe inside his washing machine — where he meets a better version of himself… or so it seems.

#WormholeInTheWasher was shot exclusively in County Offaly with the support of the Offaly Arts Office, and enjoyed a very successful festival run, winning awards for Best Comedy, Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Editing.

The film will also be available to stream on the RTÉ Player for an extended period.

We had a very enjoyable day working over the weeke

We had a very enjoyable day working over the weekend at the Tullamore Show 2025 ☀️ This year, the show made history as the first outdoor agricultural event in the Republic of Ireland to be partly powered by green hydrogen.

Two hydrogen power units were on site: one supplying electricity to the Sustainability Village, and another demonstration unit showcasing this innovative technology.

It was another successful Tullamore Decarbonising Zone project by Offaly County Council, in collaboration with ESB, GeoPura, and the Tullamore Show.

We were there to capture all the action, both from the ground and the skies above.

A few stills from a recent two-day event we had the pleasure of covering in the heart of the Burren, County Clare 📹

Organised by Irish Natural Stone (INStone), the symposium focused on preserving Ireland’s built heritage, traditional stonework, and conservation skills.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable event with many engaging presentations.
The Burren really is a stunning part of the country, especially when the sun is out ☀️ Naturally, we couldn’t resist grabbing a few #droneshots on the way home.

We're excited 🤗 to share the first in a series of videos produced for the hashtag#LocalEnterpriseOffice to showcase the various supports they offer business owners.

The hashtag#MakingItHappen series of 10 testimonial videos features successful business owners discussing the grants/support they received through their Local Enterprise Office.

This first one features David Quirke, restaurateur and co-owner of Wholesome Kitchen, a casual-style restaurant based in Mullingar talking about his successful application for the Energy Efficiency Grant.

David was a pleasure to work with and didn't seem to mind that I kept referring to the restaurant as 'Wholesome Foods' as opposed to 'Wholesome Kitchen' during the interview 😆 But the food was indeed wholesome and very tasty too, as we found out after the shoot 😋 Would highly recommend 👍

That's a wrap on the #MakingItHappen video marketing series for the Local Enterprise Office 🎬 We had our final shoot on Friday, at Monaghan Fabrications, in County Longford 🎥. It's been a great project to work on and we learned a lot about along the way about a range of industries.

The goal was to showcase the range of #LEOFinancialSupports through engaging testimonial videos featuring successful business owners based in the Midlands.
The project by numbers:

• 10 Business Owners
• 10 Business Ventures
• 10 Testimonial Videos
• 4 Counties
• 3 Crew Members
• Many laughs 😆

Thanks a million to the Offaly, Westmeath, Laois and Longford Local Enterprise Offices for the opportunity to work on this project. And to all the entrepreneurs who shared their positive experiences with their Local Enterprise Offices. And last but not least, to Kenneth Cassidy and Ian McNamara for all their hard work in the camera department.
